CCL-Forensics will be in attendance at the high-profile IACON2009 event in London in March. Delegates will be able to get a virtual guided tour of the company's premises and find out how digital forensics can help tackle internal fraud investigations.
Instead of sending traditional Christmas cards through the post, CCL-Forensics has this year sent cards electronically. The money saved in doing this has been donated to Cancer Research UK. We wish all our clients and contacts a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.
Andrew Krauze, the Managing Director of CCL Forensics, has been selected for inclusion in the 2009 edition of Who's Who of Britain's Business Elite.
The selection is based on his business achievements with CCL-Forensics and a series of strictly determined criteria.
Once again, CCL Forensics were delighted to attend the exhibition in force, taking several members of the team to make new and renew existing relationships with many law enforcement agencies.
This year a Nintendo Wii Fit accompanied the team and proved to be a huge success on the stand, with many eager slalom amateurs trying to win the coveted prize of a mini barrel of beer.
F-Man also attended the exhibition, both in the flesh and a lifesize cardboard version.
CCL Forensics recently attended the Fraud World exhibition hosted in Whitehall, London. Attending from CCL Forensics were Forensic Manager, Mark Larson, Sales Manager, Chris Booth and Marketing Manager, Andy Holmes.
Delegates at the exhibition included some of the corporate world's biggest names in information security.
On 23rd October 2008, CCL Forensics, in conjunction with the Birmingham Law Society, hosted a seminar entitled "E-disclosure/E-discovery - Electronic Documents From Creation to Trial".
The venue was the prestigious Hotel du Vin in Birmingham, which proved to be an ideal, central location.
The seminar was attended by dozens of top lawyers who benefited from talks by Chris Dale, Edward Pepperall and His Honour Judge Simon Brown QC, along with our own Forensic Manager, Mark Larson.
The course, carrying 2 CPD points, highlighted the many benefits of E-disclosure and why it is becoming the way forward for many litigators.
CCL-Forensics Limited have recently achieved ISO27001:2005 Information Security Management System Certification. ISO27001 is an International Standard which requires CCL-Forensics to establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and improve a documented ISMS (Information Security Management System).

During this three day event, the CCL-Forensics team meet many of their major police clients as well as giving other delegates a virtual guided tour of their state-of-the-art laboratories using innovative 360 degree panoramic LCD displays. After a period of intense research and development, the analysts at CCL-Forensics can now retrieve a substantial amount of data from this popular new phone. The iPhone is particularly complex and requires the use of in-depth forensic techniques by skilled analysts.
This Christmas CCL-Forensics will be abandoning its usual practice of posting Christmas cards to its customers and friends. Instead we will be sending cards electronically and donating the money which has traditionally been spent on cards to Cancer Research UK.
Six of CCL-Forensics' team attended the First Forensic Forum annual conference at Tortworth Court in Gloucestershire earlier this month. Once again this was an enjoyable and informative event and we look forward to next one!
CCL-Forensics' have featured in two recent publications - Specialist Paralegal and Leeds & Yorkshire Lawyer. Both articles were written by PR Officer Beccy Smith and introduce the capabilities of digital forensics to the legal profession.
CCL-Forensics was named as providing vital assistance in the trial of six men sentencedfor attempted armed robbery at Guildford Crown Court last month. CCL's mobile phone analysts formed part of a large operation which ensured that the men were brought to justice.
CCL-Forensics have contributed to two recent legal publications, with PR Officer Beccy Smith writing about Digtal Forensics. 2020 Law Magazine, a publication aimed at small practices, features in their July edition an introductory piece entitled "Modern Forensic Evidence". Beccy also teamed up with Senior Analyst Aidan Jewell to offer a comprehensive guide to digital forensics for defence solicitors in the Solicitors Journal Expert Witness supplement.
The lucky winner of the CCL-Forensics prize draw at the E-Crime Congress in London was Alec Letzer from Lloyds TSB- Congratulations, hope you enjoy it!
One of CCL-Forensics' Senior Analysts, has gained his Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator qualification, awarded by the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants. The course covers the process of detecting hacking attacks and extracting evidence to report the crime, as well as helping to prevent future attacks. The analyst, who has nearly ten years experience as a forensic analyst, is already putting his skills to good use by working on a hacking investigation for a large Corporate organisation.
The winner of the CCL-Forensics prize draw to win a Magnum of Champagne at E-Crime Wales on the 2nd March was Phil Williams from Eversheds.
The winner of the prize draw at Law 2007 on March 15th was Caroline Dunne from Chebsey & Co. Solicitors.

CCL-Forensics are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the title of Investors In People following a rigorous approval process which assessed CCL's commitment to its employees and to creating an excellent working environment. CCL's Clare Brett and Sophie Gilkes were asked to contribute their thoughts on employee computer misuse to the latest issue of the National Computing Centre's publication, IT Adviser. CCL-Forensics has signed up to exhibit at Law 2007 in London next month. The event takes place from 14th -15th March at Olympia and is free to attend.
This is the largest event designed specifically to attract the legal community and attendees can expect over 150 exhibitors, as well as an opportunity to mingle with like-minded professionals. Organised by The Solicitors Group, Law 2007 also offers the chance to take part in numerous short training courses and gain up to 30 free hours CPD.

CCL's Forensics Manager Mark Larson has been asked to speak at the Law 2007 event at the NEC Birmingham in June. Mark's presentation will focus on what Digital Forensics companies have to offer lawyers, including both computer and mobile phone analysis.
He will also be outlining CCL's expert witness services and giving examples of cases our analysts have assisted with. Law 2007 Birmingham is taking place on the 6th and 7th of June.
e-Crime Wales 2007 is a one day event, taking place in Newport on March 2nd, which will be packed with information and advice for businesses and the public sector on E-Crime prevention.
CCL-Forensics is excited to be exhibiting at the event for the first time and will be on hand to offer advice and information on all aspects of computer and mobile phone forensics.

After attending the very successful e-Crime event in 2006, CCL- Forensics is pleased to announce that they will be exhibiting at the fifth annual e-Crime London Congress at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel in London.
The conference takes place between the 27th-28th March and has been designed to appeal to both public and private sector organisations as well as attendees from government and law enforcement.

CCL-Forensics featured in Criminal Justice Management Magazine
CCL-Forensics' growing success in working with Police Forces prompted an approach from the GovNet organisation for the company to be featured in their Criminal Justice Management Publication. Plesae contcat us for a copy of the article.
CCL-Forensics' Forensics Manager, Mark Larson, and Business Development Manager, Clare Brett, were asked to attend and speak at the regional team meeting of members of the West Midlands Computer Audit Group back in September 2006.
Mark Larson gave an interesting talk giving an overview of the latest developments in forensic digital investigation and guidelines on how to deal with suspected incidents. Attending were Senior Auditors from a large number of Midlands based Local Authorities and Councils.
In October, Clare Brett, Business Development Manager and Sophie Gilkes, Account Manager were invited to give a talk to the representatives of the EEF who are responsible for giving advice to their members concerning employee computer misuse.
Clare Brett gave a short presentation on how forensic investigation of computers and phones can assist with employee disputes and disciplinary matters.
Once again CCL-Forensics exhibited at the F3 Conference, again held at Tortworth Court near Stroud in October. As part of the exhibition CCL-Forensics undertook a survey on "The most important factors in selecting digital forensics outsourcers".
The conference continues to grow in popularity and this year saw a record number of attendees, mainly from the Law Enforcement Community. It was generally agreed that The Conference was the best yet with a number of key speakers and very relevant workshops.
CCL-Forensics were recently invited to speak at a seminar in Doncaster for LAIOG. The subject matter was fraud and in particular the impact of digital forensics on local authorities. With recent surveys producing alarming statistics regarding the cost to government of fraud, this was particularly topical. The increase in identity theft was also causing great concern amongst the benefits fraud investigators and many of them found CCL-Forensics presentation very informative and constructive.
