What is your job title?
National Telecoms Advisor.

What do you do?
To give support and guidance in all disciplines of digital forensics and the development of evidential opportunities.

How did you get here?
I retired from the West Midlands Police in 2005 and then worked in the forensic telecoms private sector, initially specialising in cell site analysis.

Favourite part of the job?
Getting it right, first time!

Who do you look up to?
Without hesitation, my father.  A retired engineer who taught me the principle that the foundations of any project had to be sound, otherwise all that followed would be vulnerable, unreliable and probably useless.

How do you spend your spare time?
Trying to keep up with a young family. Enjoying great holidays and looking for undisciplined golf balls.

What's been the worst job you've ever had?
'Turkey plucker', that is; hung, plucked, drawn and trussed

What's your best joke?
A linguistics professor was lecturing to his class one day. "In English," he said, "A double negative forms a positive. In some languages, though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative."  A voice from the back of the room piped up, "Yeah, right."
