Cell Site Analysis is the process of being able to locate the geographical area of a phone when calls or SMS messages are made or received. This can be applied to either a live situation or be carried out retrospectively.
Every time a mobile phone is used, the event is recorded. Using data from the mobile phone provider, CCL-Forensics' specialists take the phone signal strength readings from various locations around the site in question to narrow down exactly where a phone is or has been used.
Cell Site Analysis services are commonly used by law enforcement agencies to confirm that a suspect was indeed at the scene at the time the crime was committed. Similarly, it can be used by defence solicitors to confirm an alibi.
The information provided can be used for evidential purposes and can be presented in court by one of CCL-Forensics' Expert Witnesses.
