Course Content and Purpose
This course is aimed at providing legal professionals with an overview of Digital Forensics and how it can be used in both Criminal and Civil cases. It includes an introduction to both computer and mobile phone forensics and gives examples of where these services can be applied to investigations. The course details the types of evidence that can be recovered from digital devices and how this evidence can be presented in a court of law.
Level of Prior Knowledge
This course is aimed at beginners and requires no prior knowledge of Digital Forensics.
Understanding to be gained from attending the Course
This course will enable the attendees to be able to make an informed decision as to whether Digital Forensics can be applied to any of their future cases and in what way. Attendees are given an idea of just how much information can be stored on a modern PC or Mobile Phone and how people are becoming increasingly reliant on these devices both in their personal lives and when committing crimes.
In Depth/Overview?
This is a one hour course and intended as an overview for beginners.
What delegates should be able to do on completion of the course
They will have enough knowledge to liaise with Police and Expert Witnesses on the subject and will also feel comfortable discussing the options available to their clients. The delegates will also be able to identify when a case may require digital forensics.
Course Leader Details
Philip Ridley joined CCL-Forensics in 2005 as a computer analyst, having previously worked as a consultant IT technician for Freedom Technology. He now heads CCL-Forensics' mobile phone laboratory, as well as continuing to work on computer cases. Philip is a registered Expert Witness and is experienced at giving evidence in court.

Cost
This course is provided free of charge at the CCL-Forensics offices in Stratford-upon-Avon.
CCL-Forensics are also able to conduct the course at your convenience at your own premises for groups of six or more.
