When digital evidence is first suspected of being relevant to a legal case, the method of collecting that data is crucial.
The scale of this exercise can vary from one computer or laptop, to several machines and servers. CCL-Forensics has extensive experience in all sizes of data collection assignments, which can also be done covertly if needed.
It is not unusual for these exercises to be urgent, and CCL-Forensics has a proven track record in reacting swiftly and efficiently at short notice. A 24 hour, on-call system is in operation.
Once the data has been collected using forensically sound techniques (also known as “forensic imaging”), there are a number of options available:
On site analysis – where CCL-Forensics’ analyst provides an initial assessment of the data immediately following analysis
Laboratory based analysis – where the data is returned to CCL-Forensics for a more in-depth analysis based on the scope of the assignment
E-discovery – where CCL-Forensics prepares the data for viewing, filtering, redacting etc in an intuitive online platform from our highly experienced e-discovery partner
Storage – Once the data has been securely acquired, it can be stored securely for use in full or in part at a later stage.
