Thanks for all of your help at this difficult time and enabling us to reach a swift conclusion to our investigation.
Computer Forensics
Public sector organisations employ so many staff, and use so many computers and laptops, that the risk of digital misuse shouldn't be underestimated.
Computers constantly record a large amount of data about how they are being used, and this digital trail can be recovered by computer forensic processes. Even if a suspect has tried to cover their tracks, CCL-Forensics' computer forensic analysts can potentially uncover deleted files and evidence of how that computer or laptop was used.
CCL-Forensics appreciates the sensitive nature of such investigations - and can carry out a range of value-for-money operations, including covert assignments where necessary.
Computer forensic analysis starts with the process of creating a 'forensic image' of the suspect machine(s). This can be carried out covertly or out-of-hours, and produces an exact bit-for-bit copy of the hard drive, which is returned to our laboratories for analysis. Alternatively, the computer can be delivered to us directly.
The analysis process can be used to investigate a range of misuse in the public sector including:
- Computer fraud and the theft of intellectual property (personal data about taxpayers/customers, blueprints, proposals etc.)
- Inappropriate images
- Bullying / harassment
- Internet / social media misuse
- Money laundering
- Accessing inappropriate sites on the internet
- Any non-conformance of policy.
CCL-Forensics also appreciates the heightened need to ensure public money is spent wisely, and will work closely with the public sector organisation to ensure that a detailed, cost-effective scope is produced. All work is undertaken on a fixed-scope, fixed-price basis so costs cannot escalate.
