Computer Misuse & Computer Evidence

Do you have concerns about computer misuse in your company or organisation?

The first thing to do is not to panic.

Computer misuse investigations need to be handled properly and thoroughly to avoid any legal challenge, whether in court or at a tribunal. This can follow suspicions or allegations of intellectual property theft, inappropriate use of company computers, harassment – in short, any occasion where computer misuse – or mobile phone misuse - is suspected.

CCL-Forensics has a proven track record in assisting companies in these types of investigation – both on a consultative and practical level.

Following initial discussions, the locations of the potential digital evidence are determined, and those devices are forensically “imaged” to preserve the data in a form which can then be safely analysed.

Once the forensic images are returned to our state-of-the-art laboratories, our team of highly trained analysts will examine them for any evidence consistent with the allegations. It is important to note, that for the evidence to be legally sound it should be preserved and analysed forensically by a properly qualified expert, and not by internal IT experts.

At all times, you will be kept informed of the progress of your case, and at its conclusion, you will be presented with a “Plain English” report detailing to what extent – if any – there is evidence of computer misuse.

Should the need arise, CCL-Forensics can also give expert witness evidence in court or at a tribunal, detailing the processes and procedures involved in the computer misuse investigation and the conclusions that were reached.
